Of the Wood Herbals
Of the Woods Herbals started with a simple, beautiful vision, best described by its name: to harness the natural powers of the environment’s purest, most elemental ingredients and organic herbs in order to offer natural healing products that are good for people and good for the earth.
Our Company
The mission began with owner Lynda DuBois, a garden enthusiast who wanted to start a company that would connect nature and healing. She first developed what was to become healing balm from growing her own organic lavender, St John’s Wort and calendula in her family garden. The three plants that landed in her healing balm were chosen for their medicinal properties while they also survived harsh winds and thrived together on a steep hillside. Blended together in a healing balm, they proved strong enough to fight the dry skin of cracked carpenter’s hands, and gentle enough to heal a rash on a baby’s bottom.
Lynda was humbled by the response to this magical healing balm from friends and family who raved that the healing balm was the only thing that helped just about any wound or skin ailment. So, after giving it away for years, she decided to grow more organic herbs and share this coveted natural healing product with her community. Soon after, Cocoa Sweet Orange lip balm was born to fulfill a request from her husband that constantly had chapped lips in the winter and loved the taste of chocolate..
For many years, Lynda tried numerous moisturizers for her sensitive skin. A large number of commercial face creams which have anti-ageing properties are peppered with any number of non-organic ingredients, some of which are untested and therefore not a hundred percent safe to use on sensitive areas of skin such as the face. After feeling the necessity of being in control of what she should put on her face, plus what was good for the environment too, she took her favorite herb lavender and the lovely scent of rose and whipped her rose face cream together. The cream pure white and smelling lovely, soaked into her skin, not oily and feeling good. Our organic face cream can be added to a fully organic hygiene routine, for maximum benefits and clear, refreshed skin.
